Author Topic: Dual-booting Windows 7 & Ubuntu into Ubuntu brings up Grub Terminal?!?  (Read 1864 times)

I am only using Ubuntu, I installed it from Ubuntu.com from the wubi installer. Running Ubuntu worked before, and then I had to restart into Windows to do something that only Windows could do. When I logged back into Ubuntu, I got the image above. Help what do I do?

The first step is to not use WUBI.

Then why would they loving put that on their website?
God nobody ever loving says these things.

Partition your hard disk and install Linux properly on another partition. Do not use Wubi.

Well now you know :P

I'm assuming you can still log in to Windows, right? Unless you posted this using something else.

Install linux by rebooting your pc with the ubuntu disk inside. It will ask you if you want to install ubuntu alongside windows or not.
Never use condoms wubi.
It stinks.

Wonderful. I love how nobody ever mentioned this before, not even Ubuntu. Makes my life a lot easier. The question is, what DO I use then, and WHERE DO I get it?

Ubuntu is the only OS that will run good on this bloody-as-hell laptop. Of course I had to dual-boot into Windows to use this, but Windows always crash whenever i'm playing games like Blockland or any stuff. Ubuntu rarely (never) crashed.

Jeez and you didn't even mention Fedora

Although I guess it all comes down mostly to personal preference.
