why dont cats want to cuddle? seriously

every time i want to cuddle with any of my cats, it works for about 5 seconds but then they start to cry and scratch me and stuff
then if i let them go, they run off and just sit down in a corner or something

why don't they loving cuddle? damnit
i mean wouldn't it make sense that it's more comfortable than sitting on the loving floor?

do dogs cuddle? if so forget cats, im getting a dog

some breeds do so more than others but all dogs do
if you get a puppy you can teach it to lie on its back which provides for the ultimate pet cuddling experience

I guess it's kinda the way you raise your pet. If you cuddle it all the time as a kitten, it gets used to it. That probably wasn't the case with your cat, so it's not so comfortable with cuddling and whatnot.

i'm hoping my kitten will be a cuddler, he'll sometimes sleep at my feet or lie in my lap while i'm at the computer
he'll sleep in my parent's bed and knead and purr loudly at them so maybe we'll get lucky
