I don't see how judging a distro by how it looks makes it good, it can look nice and run like total ass. As my experiances with crunchbang are like that. The distro looks decent, but runs slower then it looks.

i'm only using linux to escape windows' incompatibility for my laptop. any distro that i used wasn't slow at all for me, so i don't pay attention to that at all. all i care about is the beauty

Yeah. Elementary, so far, has been a lot faster for me than #!.
When I install it, it freezes on calander when I install it to find my location, any fix?

Windows is more compatible with most desktops and for the beauty thing. I seirously have no idea why making a desktop nice makes the distro better, literally every single distro you can make look nice to an extent. I'm not trying to call you out or anything.

I don't use the calendar app, so I wouldn't know. Try asking people on the elementary IRC.

nonono like on the instillation, where it asks were you are, I hit next and it freezes

Ah, I see. I think I had that problem a while back when I installed ubuntu.

What did you enter your username as? It might have an invalid character, but never told you about it.

if your computer cant even view a video on windows then what is the specs of it because I'm pretty sure it takes like 1gb or two to run windows fine

This is where you failed. Picking a distro shouldn't be a decision between off-the-bat eye candy and functionality. Your opinion is now rendered invalid.

the specs are fine. the only problem i see is that i have intel HD graphic cards, when i could have better :I
infact, when i first got this pc, it was just perfect. i could play skyrim with lag, but i still didn't crash. even blockland.

the problem might be when i used a certain fan-changing application in hopes of trying  to get minecraft to run faster... but that was like at the start. i've system restored my pc to factory default many times, and this last time was a new install but it still goes slow. so yeah i don't know anymore

What the forget? Are you even proof-reading your posts?

i'm an oxymoron. i've used arch for too long because i don't think i had much choice.
i'm not good at making things look right for me by myself because in the next minute, i'll want to  changeeerything

Then change everything. It's fine that you like to change things and tinker a little bit. What isn't fine is installing an entirely different distro just for the look of said distro.

One of the strongpoints of GNU/Linux is its customizability and wide array of themes, icon sets, desktop environments, window managers, and looks in general. With every distro, more than likely you'll be able to make it look however the hell you want without having to hop to another distro.

well this took a twist of events

currently installing manjaro openbox

Just found out about whereis today. So useful...

i think fedora is cool
i installed apt-get on it so i don't have to use yum anymore
but yeah i didn't really see any problems with yum. i installed steam and google-chrome very easily
