There is a such thing as too mac-like.

Is SLAX a distro at all?

Or is it something else?

Either way, it's a nice portable operating system/Linux.

You mean liveCD?
Yes?

Yes?

no, SLAX.

SLAX is different than liveCD.

Im pretty sure that all the distros listed as subtypes of ubuntu are sub types of Debian.

EDIT: Also, apt-get= aptitude

I am bringing this thread back from the dead because Ubuntu now works with my ethernet adapter

hooray

Also going to answer old questions in here;

SLAX is a distro, made for portable use.

Yeah, no stuff. But there are so many distros based off of Ubuntu it'd be dumb to have them all categorized under Ubuntu then under Debian.

He's probably referring to the title, but I think it's about time to change that.

sigh
I'm entirely sure this is spam. It has no meaning to anything happening in this thread, nor is it a reply to anything in the previous thread. Just because you went overboard with installing different Linux distributions doesn't mean you have the right to post nonsense in this thread.

Okay, I was wondering this. I was looking at some really low end Linux distros and none of them will fit on a Floppy Disk. I don't have any Compact Discs laying around, and these floppy disks are all I have. I was planning on installing a lightweight distribution with Pacman included (no not the game, the package manager) on my mum's old computer.

Too bad I can't because OP is banned

How big are the floppy disks? Archbang is around 250mb

Actually I shouldn't even be suggesting that because I have no idea if that will work with a floppy disk

Slackware 8 is the newest distro I know of that can be installed with a Floppy Disk.
