SLAX is a distro, made for portable use.

Im pretty sure that all the distros listed as subtypes of ubuntu are sub types of Debian.

Yeah, no stuff. But there are so many distros based off of Ubuntu it'd be dumb to have them all categorized under Ubuntu then under Debian.

I don't have any Compact Discs laying around, and these floppy disks are all I have. I was planning on installing a lightweight distribution with Pacman included (no not the game, the package manager) on my mum's old computer.

How big are the floppy disks? Archbang is around 250mb

Slackware 8 is the newest distro I know of that can be installed with a Floppy Disk.
