New users can be tricked into giving out their key

isn't there some way to detect that the good has been altered or something? if you had the code for this "hack" would there be ways to prevent it?

You can certainly generate keys that work offline, but to get an online key you'd have to get someone's actual key.  I haven't seen any evidence that this is possible.  If he could do it he'd probably tell some of his underlings how to do it and they'd go nuts logging into everyone else's key and we'd have chaos.

He seems to just be using keys that other habitual problem users like wound or electrk have bought for him.  For instance, right now he's using a key bought by brian smith.
omg it's like a blockland reject circlejerk at the bottom of the barrel. all the washout players meet together and share infected stuff with eachother.

would there be ways to prevent it?

Badspot can certainly prevent the floating hack

Do you mean Brian Smith bought a key for MARBLE MAN?

Yes, but that's not exactly "regenerating" is it?

It's not really possible to secure client data on an open platform like a PC.  Any kind of encryption tactic would just make it an arms race.  The best countermeasure would probably be to detect it every once in a while and ban people.

I have the source, no malicious code in there, and when I compiled it I got the same dll

It's still getting new keys without paying for them

This is basically how it is.  Many many times I have investigated some new jerk and it turns out to be some old jerk back for another round.  The problem users never leave and they cause problems in multiple communities simultaneously.  I'd estimate that all of the problems on the internet are caused by less than one percent of the population.  We could easily enact a final solution and history would look kindly on us.
