Author Topic: Am I the only one that thinks the Legend of Zelda series is overrated?  (Read 5947 times)

I can still say windwaker is the best game i've ever played. It had the most gameplay time out of any game I've played before, and I still never beat it, even though I tried for over a year when I was a kid.

they make the same games over and over again with nothing new. weird how COD gets massacred for this but when nintendo does it no one cares.
I disagree with that one bit;

To say that Nintendo's games are as repetitive and money gouging as COD is damnation :(

am I the only one afraid to play MM
lol
It's not nearly as scary as the internet portrays

I got that Gamecube multiple games in one that came with my Gamecube

that game was one of them and it freaked me out when I was little and I still havent played it to this day

Especially with the graphics it's hard to portray the enemies as creepy.

I'd like to say even Twilight Princess did a good job at being slightly eerie like Majora's Mask.

i liked oot because saria is hot :)

I didn't like SS, and I disliked the wolf mechanic in TP. Otherwise I really enjoy the series and think that the series deserves it praise.

i think OoT is overrated. tbh i think TP >>>> OoT..
nintendo as a whole is overrated to an extent. they make the same games over and over again with nothing new. weird how COD gets massacred for this but when nintendo does it no one cares. but hey, the games are still fun. just nothing i would want to buy a new console for.
it's okay, they're classics

it's okay, they're classics

Considering Zelda has been around since 1986 and is the most recognizable Nintendo character that isn't from Mario..
I think classic is a good term.

Not to sound biased. But, Nintendo makes great games. Popularity and sales numbers don't lie. People don't choose to buy bad products.
Sure, their level of authenticity* has diminished due to the constant pandering to the casual generation of gamers.

I'm still laughing my ass off at that comment comparing the Nintendo franchise(s) to the spamming of COD. ROFL.

*Authenticity of staying true to their previous games

I am sorta on as Oot is horribly overrated, OoA and Oos (oracle of ages and oracle of seasons) it was much better then Oot since the secrets was just clever and the rings too. but really if Tloz never existed many RPg games wouldn't exist (tes is one) namely because it was one of or the first rpg,MM was dark but it was clever with the masks, fourswords showed out how teamwork helps out, wind waker wasn't liked at first, then became on of the most favorited, skyward sword was straight up, short but smart at the same time,Link to the past and Ooa required you to go to two diffrent areas to get past obstacles or find new duengeons or do new things. (LTTP - dark world Ooa - past)
So really it's a cool series.

i'd say it certainly efffected the gaming world positively, and any game that does that deserves some praise.

the key word here is positively, though. COD effected the gaming world negatively IMO

...is the most recognizable Nintendo character that isn't from Mario..

Its a bit overrated, but the games deserve most of the praise they get. SS was pretty boring for me though. According to some news sources, Miyamoto is working hard on comic up with a new franchise. If the game for that franchise is coming out this year, Nintendo will have 3 new IP's (Nintendoland, Wonderful 101, That new franchise), so there's that for the people who keep whining that Nintendo never comes up with new IPs.

the only zelda game i played and actually liked kind-of was that one where you sail around in a open ocean and end up finding an island with a bunch of messenger birds/whatever

I COULD NEVER GET PAST THE PRISON LEVEL
TOO CONFUSING FOR ME

You're probably talking about Wind Waker
I'll be getting the HD remake for Wii U.
