Well I was running around a T2 exterminate to try to find these new elusive "golden containers" that rarely spawn in the level and give you stuff like a fully built Forma, immortal skin blueprints etc. and I had Loot detector on and came across this orb in the roof of one of the rooms:
if you look at the minimap, you can see that the loot detector is showing a TON of containers in there, so i was curious and decided to throw my exploding kestrel at it and lo and behold, a mod appeared inside the orb.
Fortunately my carrier has vacuum on it so I could pick up the mod through the orb. Later on I was milling about the room, trying to find a way to get back up on top of the orb without any energy, and suddenly I turned around and saw a ton of credits and resources on the floor below the orbs, I have no idea how I opened it.
speaking of which, does anyone know where I can find a list of every secret room in the Tower?
