Author Topic: Anyone else sick of the Trayvon Martin case?  (Read 6345 times)

Seriously, I'm sick of all these nationally-televised cases. They are basically just telling us what happens every day and that is just average people getting murdered.
I even went so far as to watch Fox News, but they are still showing the same stuff.

2 people a week get murdered in Chicago and no one gives a damn, but when some random black kid gets murdered it's a national tradgedy.

Dicuss these handicapped cases.

It's worse in Florida. Especially when you only live a few towns over.

Really sucks for Trayvon's parents, I mean, i'd be pissed too if some Mexican hopped the border, played vigilante and shot my son.

I agree.
Guess people care about this because they get to blame someone.

The point of the case isn't that he's black or was murdered, but it is mostly on how the police didn't arrest him after he shot him, and instead just believed his story.

The part where race comes in is that everyone believes GZ racially profiled TM and that lead to the shooting. I believed he did as well. I honestly don't think that he would've stalked a white kid at night who was just walking home.

GZ is obviously wrong anyways; the police told him not to follow Trayvon, he decided to be a tough guy and do it anyways, which lead to the shooting. It doesn't matter that Trayvon, although he should've ran all the way home, "assaulted" Zimmerman; people act like they wouldn't do the same if some creepy man was following them in a car and then confronted him.

Truthfully, I think that Zimmerman tried to be a cop and arrest Trayvon for doing nothing, which caused the physical-behavior to start. Just my opinion.

I'm tired of it too however, and I'm glad it's almost over with.

uh. huh. i thought this stopped mattering like 2 years ago as soon as it happened.

I know right.

It didn't really become an issue until some groups pulled the race card and got the media involved. White people murder black people all the time, and vice versa.

CNN loves this story, "and that guy scratched his right eye brow. So tell me Jack, do we know if that is sign that is guilty or not? Look at that evil Men's Wearhouse Spokesman."

Also races killing their own is more common than whites killing blacks/vice versa.

No I meant how people have turned this into a huge race thing.

Edit: I don't watch the news much, so I wouldn't be able to say if they turned this into a race thing or not. Lots of people are definitely doing that though.

Edit2: I edited out media and replaced it with people, just so you know

A black person on national television? This must be stopped.

Well, it is a race thing because there's tons of white people who are scared of black people, even if they don't say it to their faces.

*shudder*

I pretty much forgot about this until you made this topic...
