Author Topic: I might file a lawsuit against ASUS (Resolved)  (Read 8980 times)

I'm so loving mad. I'm going to at least demand compensation for it. All I really care about is
I would demand much more than that. I'd demand proof of the destruction of my hard-drive and possibly 10 grand at most. At minimum, the best gaming laptop they have. lol
and how much was your laptop

So let me get this straight. Your laptop hard-drive was broken so you sent your laptop in to get it fixed. You told them not to destroy your hard-drive. They determined that your hard-drive was unreadable, replaced it, and destroyed the old one.

They might repair the hard drive and auction it somewhere.....considering they easily have the money to do so. Anyways, good luck, whether you file a lawsuit or get proof of destruction.

I'm literally debating putting this aside, going to law school, become a lawyer, and do this myself in about 10 years. LOL
Your anger's digging your own grave, and quite frankly, making you look stupid now.

Lawsuit is pretty much the last option you should have if you're having a major issue with a company them; best try to settle this another way.

I was not insulting you, either.

because this works, right?  oh wait no because hard drives aren't very easily repairable and it's almost always cheaper to just replace it.

You don't understand lawsuits then.

You won't win unless you file a class action with about 500 other people that have the same problem, Asus is a major company.

That may be true, but you have to realize the situation would be nearly hopeless either way. I'm obviously not really going to be able to file a lawsuit against them considering I'm loving sixteen years old and work at McDonald's. Paying for a lawyer would be extremely difficult and it's not like I'd succeed doing it myself.

Yes, probably, but I requested they send it back with my laptop because I planned to take it to a place down in my city to have it restored. That, or just verify the files on it are mine so I could destroy it myself.

Probably not much. It was a christmas gift and it's got a processor of 1.8GHz. That doesn't sound very expensive. lol

loli don't think that taking the hard drive out voids your warranty.lol 10 grand?  for pain and suffering thinking that your girlfriends nudes might be made public?

If you actually gave a stuff about the people you love, this situation would mean a lot to you if you were in it as well. I take this very seriously for the respect of the privacy of my girlfriend and preserving the fact that I'm the only one who has seen her in such ways. lol

lol they dont give 2 stuffs about you. if it becomes public they would give you their hobo stash to you to keep their reputation.

star fish boys here wanna appear as the good guys so they can sell more stuff to people

I wouldn't really demand anything other than proof. That's all I care about, tbh.

But it's still possible to repair it. Even if it costs thousands. That's why I wanted it back.

Sorry for the double post. lol

Yeah, of course. I'll be trying to work something out. I was kidding about the becoming a lawyer, though. forget that.

You just gotta understand, bro. I'm so paranoid right now. Holy forget.

That is very unfortunate. It is really annoying that they just replace a hard-drive as if it were any other computer part. Companies don't seem to realize that people value their data a lot and would probably be willing to even pay for the new hard drive if they could keep the old one.

It is also frustrating because you know that the ASUS guys aren't going to be putting a lot of effort in data recovery, and it gives you a lot more closure to see the hard-drive dead for yourself.

did you try calling them again
for proof

also stop being paranoid

they do destroy them, by destroying them they mean recycling them so they can use the parts for new faster hdd that they put in their hobo stash

But if they "recycle" it, there's a chance that my data is still loving there. :(((((

I'm going to call them again. If they hang up, I'll call, and call, and call again. Eventually, I'll threaten a legal approach (bluff, of course, maybe). Actually, I'll see if I can record the phone calls somehow to be used against them.

do it, i want a cut

its gone, bang bang, like white guy getting shot by black guy gang

its no more! your data is crapola on a stick stepped on by me
