Yeah, they had to be. I mean, seriously, if you ever see a car like this irl. It was shorter than the car I was in, which is average height of a car and I sorta barely fit in it. Then again, I'm -relatively- tall, but my point is... Damn it was flat and low. And seriously the most unexpected thing to see in our ty town.

Nah, I'm 6 feet and I've been in a McLaren MP4-12c and a Lamborghini LP560. I've also driven a Corvette and all 3 aren't anywhere near bad. Bear in mind I also had a gigantic racing helmet on in the first two and I had several inches of spare room from the roof. You don't need to be laying down by any means, but it's not an SUV where you sit directly up as if it were a dining room chair. They're very comfortable and fit you perfectly, but aren't for fat people.
