The portion of the AC that was once Abdullahi, and never again will be, is put into quarantine. Official transit only. Violators shot on sight.
The tracking devices from stolen crates of weaponry (this precaution is taken for all shipments of military gear in the AC) give away a minor HQ of the Abdullahi Rebels. After a quick airstrike and a brief firefight, almost 100 rebels are captured and brought away to an undisclosed location.
Members of the former Abdullahi's ruling party still living in the AC are brought into custody. Any with known connections in the disputed region are relocated.
The AC is willing to negotiate, perhaps for the relocation of Abdullahi to the Americas, but the homeland will not be taken. Even if a portion of the homeland must undergo a scorched earth purge, cutting off the foot to save the leg.
The AC calls on its allies to provide some support in this hour of crCIA. I don't need you to break your backs, just to chip in if and where you can.
On public television, an obviously horribly tortured member of the Abdullahi Rebels, captured during the raid, is tried and sentenced to death. His face is bruised and bloodied, and his uniform torn and stained. He is set out in the public stocks for one day, where he is killed by the common people.
Polls show that over 97% of people in the AC feel that Abdullahi is foolish for attempting to break off violently from the AC, and of these, 80% believe that Abdullahi could easily have left peacefully, and of the 97%, 89% feel that all involved rebels, not just the leaders, should be executed.
