Author Topic: How does Blockland like their steak?  (Read 8612 times)

Preferably rare to medium-rare, but I had some steak tacos the other day, and they kind of overcook it (and I'm not a fan of any food that is burnt), and I thought the steak was great.

Medium rare with A1 steak sauce. Seasoned.LARGE
Eating steak with A1 steak sauce is like driving a sports car covered in stuff.

Medium Well to Well Done

On the subject of sauces: Unacceptable. Sauce is for the weak.
I find that it improves the quality of dull meat. Sounds like you are afraid of spice. I also specialize in dry rub.

how is medium rare more tough to eat compared to medium
it's more stringy, and therefore more tough to come apart.

Dry rub =/= Sauce. There's no reason to ever use A1 or Worcestershire sauce unless you're eating really low quality beef.

Dry rub is totally acceptable in my book. A little sea salt + rosemary = yes.

can't stand salt on any food besides normal potato chips.

I feel like dry rub is only necessary if you're eating anything other than steak. Baby back ribs, for example, are very good with dry rub.

That's funny because salt is in basically everything you eat.

Baby back ribs need dry rub. It's just obligatory. They suck so bad without it that it's not even worth calling them baby back ribs unless they are marinaded.

true but it's pretty unnoticeable. i enjoy pepper occasionally

Sometimes when I cook pork rips I combine dry rub with sauce.

lol, half of the people in this thread are saying their opinion on steak is the best and everyone else is wrong.

An opinion can't be wrong but it can be shortsighted and uneducated.

Example: Not liking medium rare because it's undercooked. That's an opinion, but it's uneducated.

All of my opinions are valid.
