Author Topic: Balloonists Build Royale [More than meets the eye, trust me.]  (Read 12526 times)

hmome sweet loving hmome

coburn get back here and make these already :(

Coburn is hard at work! It's my fault he doesn't have time to do some things because I want to play games with him, but he manages to say not and code! He hasn't bothered replying to the topic, though...

alright then

stop asking him to play games then omg i really want to see this happen.

more ideas:
-Blindfolded: you can't see where the next island is, but you all know its in one orthogonal direction from the island, and so you have to work together to find it before time runs out.
-Lightning Strike: Periodically, according to a recurring countdown clock on the start island, a lightning strike will appear and destroy one player-built brick at random.
-Botpath: Goal is not to get to the other island, but to build a path for a bot to cross. The bot, however, does not always walk in a straight line...
-Shark Crossing: Map is flooded with water, so you can swim to the other side, but sharks spawn, and you need to build a barricade/isolated tank to protect yourself as you go across. To prevent simple bridge building, a zone just above the water surface pushes you back towards the start island, so you must swim underwater until you resurface in the end island's well or "safe zone"
-Wiring: Connect a series of "electric" appliances using "wires" that replicate periodic relays from a charger to charge a battery that powers a device that launches you across. For added difficulty, provide one charger and multiple appliances, so people need to split the wire so they can get double the relays for every "charge" sent.

But games are a good way to take breaks :/ You can't work 24/7!

This would be an interesting gamemode, but it doesn't fit in with our lore!

sky sharks.
they swoop down and kill you

is that lorey enough?

sky sharks.
add wings onto them and give them sunglasses and color them white and when they get a player they fly upwards to heaveennnnn

Have you beta tested before? (If so, where?): legoboss' death kart, crystalwarrior's parkour playertypes, alphadin's stuff, other stuff i can't immediately remember.

and right off the bat a gamemode idea! if it conflicts with the lore, mouseover the underlined bits for sky sharks!
Name: ROBOT ATTACK!!
Description: You must get from A to B while a giant robot chases you! If you are too slow and fail to outbuild your metal adversary, you will perish as it catches you!

let me know what you think about the idea!

I can pretty much do any challenge but bot challenges so far are something I havent really wanted to work with, mainly it's a lot of work for not much gain (only 1 challenge). There might be some sort of spin off idea that I can get from this but otherwise I dont think I can implement it.

And as for the coding, I've been a bit busier at work but things are never-the-less getting done. I just finished moving all the constructs over to the new template based system for spawning buildings so hopefully it'll make build management much easier than before.

Progress? any idea when it might be in a beta testable stage?

Coburn says that he's been busy with work.

Also we've all been playing Feed The Beast. I guess you could say we're taking a short break but with me outta the way starting College I guess Coburn will have time to code?

This man is a distraction :P

But in all seriousness, I have been busy with a few things (including a college transfer application as well as work where I finally got a project to work on but it's sucking up my time).

I am still working on this though, don't you worry :)
