Author Topic: Accidentally downloaded a virus; What should I do?  (Read 2147 times)

Kill yourself.  Now that your computer doesn't work right you have nothing left to live for.

I can tell because you visit the Blockland forums.

Just virus scan a ton. Maybe boot time scans and safe mode scans if you're really scared.

If you just opened the rar file then you won't need to do anything but delete the file, it's only if you run the exe or if the virus somehow self executes when you open it (Highly unlikely)

its possible the virus was disguised with a .rar extension but if he clicked it and opened an archive then i doubt it

I have windows set up so I can clearly see if it's a fake rar or not. (ex: virus.rar would be virus.rar.exe)

too late now, i mean they already have control of your every file now, might as well buy new pc. the rar file extension allows dirty programs to install themselves like an os on your current os and be a parasite to it basically, sucking all its code to them. no joke they are spying on you right now through your camera

Very funny, the virus was in a sandbox and never really executed.

why are you convincing yourself that you do not have a virus and that like everything is fine but you still make this topic

no. i mean like the extension would be modified, not just renamed and added with ".rar"

this means that it wouldn't show up with .exe in your example

Well, from my research, I have almost no doubt that I'm safe, just barely getting that virus. Locking forever unless the safe mode scan I'm going to do later turns up with a virus.
