If you can't give any others a chance then all of them will die out completely.

Maybe if they presented themselves better with a more original premise than "a computer that somehow manages to post and read posts on the forums and gives you codes to look up" then they wouldn't die out.

Yeah, they do need to be presented better, but with Muslim and looks like Cassord now just jumping onto any attempts and say that it's stupid without giving them a chance, it'll get kind of annoying.

I have an idea of using a Java applet as some sort of a "hub", where you put in certain numbers to get the next part of the story. I'm working on a program like it, but I don't think I'd make my own ARG.

EDIT: But the only problem is that people can download the applet from the website and get in the code, from my understanding of Java (I'm new to Java in general)

the next time an ARG comes around, here are some things that may come in handy.

they lose their magic when a new one gets posted every day

They're copycats. They're not bringing anything fairly interesting or hard to decrypt to the table.

Then give suggestions?
Don't just go into ARG topics and say "This sucks Mura's topic was the only good one!"
That's does absolutely nothing for helping the problem of unoriginality.

I feel like these could be really cool if there was a reward, but really lame if there isn't one.
I like a good mystery/scavenger hunt but there has to be an end to it somewhere.

You need a story to base it on, a new account, and a lot of time.

A new account? Debatable.

A story? Also debatable, as a series of challenging puzzles can also be pretty fun.

I guess, but  someone named Sanic133712345 making an ARG is hard to take seriously, and you wouldn't want to screw up and get your normal account banned.

It would be great if we could make an ARG. Open up a google document page for a bit of time, make it private after, get some tinkery people in. We could make it damn complicated and for instance post it in some places on 4chan, where it would be this hunt across boards for the answer
maybe I'm making it sound too epic but still that would be fun
