Author Topic: How would I portforward to host a Garrys Mod server?  (Read 2869 times)

Note: If you're going to just say google it and nothing else helpful, then getout, I've looked on google and cant really find any good tutorials for this.
I want to host a GMod server with like, 5 or so people in it, I tried hamachi but that doesn't work at all, and I'm not going through the stuff it would give me because its a pain in the ass for me to try a hamachi server, i tried and it didn't work with anything i did.
I need to host a server for my friends because nobody else can host, and we want to play that storm chasing type gmod gamemode.
Anyway, can anyone help with this? I have full access to my router but I just don't know how to portforward gmod and dont want to forget stuff up.

In this guide, for the service  names it says Name1,Name2,Name3 in the service names, do I change those to garrys mod?

Also, in the guide, what would the server IP address be? My actual IP? or the IPv4?

Doesn't matter, it's just naming to later know which port is for what.

The IP of the server I'm guessing, so your actual IP.

Added my ip for the server ip, this came up:

ERROR

The Current IP is error.

We can't tell you exactly what you're going to put in.

Tell us your OS.

When port-forwarding, use you internal IP.
When connecting, use your external.

If your going to host a Gmod serber, get Murderthon 9000.

All of them.
