I'll just wait to be a tankman.

I presume we'd return to base and Henry would receive some sort of punishment?

Sergeant Baker: "Load up onto the truck you loving dimwits. All of you."

The squad loads up onto the truck, taking the injured NVA soldier with them. They pass three other M135's carrying more troops. In ten minutes they're back at the base. Henry is being demoted to PV-2 and will be transferred back to command after the Tet cease-fire is over. As punishment for Bravo squad, the squad members must clean the barracks, utilities, and mess-hall.

"Damn it Henry" says Dan angrily.

Since it's going to be ten days, historically speaking, until the real fun begins, I'm just going to skip to those ten days right now because I realize this is getting somewhat boring. Positions for NVA and US armaments/pilots are still open. I'm also allowing for current participants to create dual templates if they wish to play as a US armament or NVA soldier, go ahead and apply with the current template.

January 30, 19.43
Ten days since the mishap at the POW exchange, both sides brushed it off their shoulders. Reconnaissance however says otherwise. Lots of NVA activity on the border with NVA platoons and companies moving around a lot, and with Russian
T-59's moving around.

Dan rubs his forehead, yawning. "You're all boring right now, it's like being in a concentration camp of butt-forget boring." He's sitting on the ground, he pulls out a cigarette and asks "Hey Ryan, gimme a light."

I'm going to assume the M48 Patton is on stand-by because of the heightened activity so

"Okay crew, wake up! We have reports of T-59's and NVA platoons moving around. It is assumed that the Platoons carry AK's. We don't know if they have artillery support or air if they do engage us. I have a feeling these bastards are going to attack. Nobody moves around entire companies and then waits out a ceasefire."

Well the NVA had more than just Chinese Type-59's, they had a ton of T-54 variants and clones. However they mainly used the PT-76's since they were amphibious, as you can imagine they would be useful for country full of rice paddies, rivers, and lakes.

I know this, I chose one tank. I have list of weapons used by both the US and NVA/NLF. Also at the border of SV and NV, there are no lakes and the only river stems from Laos and any rice patty farms there would have been completely obliterated from previous artillery battery, infantry support, and armored vehicles.

Yeah they should be on stand-by. Remember you can create as much of the story as me or anyone else. Just follow history though.

Dan is outside of the command center, leaning on a wall that was once going to be used in a project building. He sees M48 Pattons rolling by. Immediately a large whistle is heard, a C5 Galaxy is flying low and right above Hue. A bunch of jeeps drive into the command center and more troop transport trucks are seen coming into Hue.
"What the hell is going?" He starts walking around from where he was, walks toward a post where an officer happened to be.
"Umm excuse me, sir?" The officer turns around and reveals himself to be a colonel. Dan straightens up immediately and salutes. The Colonel smirks and says "It's okay son, relax, I'm not a hardass until the war begins. What do you need Private?"

"Uhh sir, what's with all the cargo and soldiers being moved into Hue.?"

Colonel: "Reconnaissance believes the NVA are going to be planning an attack on the border, and we're the second closest to the border. This is was intel suggests, but they might do more than just that, so all bases have been put to a heightened alert in case of attack."

"Ohh. Okay, thank you s-sir." Dan salutes once again then walks off.

Not like it was my fault this was bound to happen otherwise the RP would have been interesting.

I just made it interesting a bit earlier.  :cookieMonster:

Henry walked an empty street of Hue, cigarette in mouth, sidearm in hand.  He stopped to look at the humungous jet fly over him.  He sighed, and then palmed his sidearm, bringing it closer to himself to examine it further.  It scarred him.  It was the very pistol he used to take that man's life.  To reboot a war that all had thought was long gone.  And he felt terrible for it.  He let the cigarette drop from his mouth, and reached into his pocket, withdrawing a wallet.  He opened it, inside the standard ID card and a pocket for display.  In said pocket, a picture of a young woman, her arm around a man, Henry, and her hand on the shoulder of a young boy, Henry was doing the same.  A tear fell from his eye as he weighed both items in his hand.  A instrument of death, and the ones he loved.

He closed the wallet, putting it in his pocket and wrapping his hand tightly around the handle, bringing the barrel to his temple.  Tears streamed from the corner of his right eye, and soon after his left.  He took a deep breath, wrapping his finger around the trigger.

Alex is seen running around, laughing with Vietnamese children.

"Okay boys, hop into the tank. Recon says NVA is probably planning a attack on the border. We are moving." I hop into the tank, the last one in. I leave the hatch open, and look around, trying to see if the bastards would attack. (I'm also going to assume tanks are going inside of Hue right now). I see some man looking at a photo in his wallet, or something. "Hey!" I yell to him. "Hey, buddy! Don't shoot yourself! We got a war, your country needs you, and if you're like most of us, you got a family that depends on you when you get back! So get back to base and prepare for a war!" When I was a kid, I always wanted to help people. When I got drafted, I couldn't help people by being a firefighter, or cop, or whatever, but now if I can help the vietnamese and my fellow countrymen, that's good enough.

During the Vietnam and post-Vietnam periods, all issued LAWs were recalled due to instances of the warhead exploding in flight, sometimes injuring the operator.

Good luck with that.
