Author Topic: I'm so sick of some peoples' grammar  (Read 11355 times)

how many times do I have to say this
10/10 was funny and would laugh again

Then why does the title have poor grammar?

"I'm so sick of the grammar of some people"
"I'm so sick of some people and their grammar"

Your thread was doomed from the start

Um, the title doesn't have poor grammar. Peoples is a word and it's perfectly fine to use, but the title isn't what I would have said though.

it's worded really awkwardly and just sounds generally bad

it's worded really awkwardly and just sounds generally bad
But that doesn't mean it has poor grammar. It makes grammatical sense but yeah, it's poorly worded.

No, I'm quite sure that the topic title is incorrect grammatically

The title is grammatically incorrect. People is already plural, and doesn't require s to make "peoples". The correct saying is "I'm so sick of some people's grammar."

Though I will say that is most likely a mistake, as with other grammar mistakes. Purposely misspelled letters like "ikr" and "bby" are used for shortcuts when chatting at people, which, to be honest, we all used sometimes and can get annoying when overused. Purposeful grammar issues is that own person's fault, but that just leads to the phrase "He isn't that really good at English to begin with."

This is the internet. People will have grammar issues.

I know that the OP did not intend this, but this thread is really ignorant in my opinion.

Dear OP,
First of all, you are talking about a lego building game forum. I know Blockland is much more complicated than that with scripting and mods but it is undeniable that a huge chunk of Blockland population is mostly consisted of kids from age 6-10.  I went on Tezuni's server and asked the players' age, most of their ages were single digits. You should actually be glad how much more intelligent Blockland Forums is compared to Roblox (oh god) or Runescape (let's not even get started with this one). Also, not everybody is as "civilized" as you are. America doesn't have the best public education system in the world, and many kids in the rural areas can't read or write anything that goes over one sentence until age of 15. Blockland is also a video game, players all over the world play it. People whose English isn't their first language will have grammar problems, and undereducated kids who spend too much time playing video games will have grammar problems.

TL;DR:
This is the internet. People will have grammar issues.
^this. Always remind yourself.

Everyone is going to have bad grammar or something.
Sometimes the case is someone has this really bad error and wants a fix fast, so they type really fast.
Another is someone is a troll and doesn't use grammar at all.
Another is that person behind the screen is less than or equal to an 8 year old

Sorry, but the all of the forums aren't english professors, Half the time no one want's to go back and correct their stuff because they are lazy. It shouldn't matter if people use correct grammer as long as you can understand it and read it easily.

I didn't know we were obligated to type in mechanically perfect english when using the internet

I guess I should go tell my spanish friend to stop wasting his time speaking a useless language

Seriously?
Sorry, Mister President, but this is a LEGO forum for a LEGO game, it doesn't matter how good other people's grammar is.

What i'm sick of is people creating drama threads over pointless things.

Peoples is actually a real word, you can express it as a plural. People can classify as a single group, so peoples express different groups of people.

But now that I think of that, the title probably should have been people's.
