ut the police department in Suffolk County, N.Y., issued a statement later Thursday saying that the incident unfolded after detectives "received a tip from a Bay Shore computer company regarding suspicious computer searches conducted by a recently released employee" on the employee's workplace computer. why don't they see what webpages we visit, instead of our searches. Like, if they go on news, that's fine but if they went on a shady website, that's suspicious.

I mean, he wasn't stripped of his freedom, so I can't say I have an issue with it.  He was questioned because he searched for shady things, now if they FBI came in and unlawfully detained him without ever having real evidence, I'd say I have a problem with it.

Actually it can provide a bit of a blanket rather than picking through the pages piece by piece. Think about it this way, you can either look through five different pages, two of an innocent search, and the other three not so innocent. You can ignore the other two and only search through the pages he looked through by searching the three searches which were deemed suspicious. It's easier that way.

I dunno I'm probably wrong and that isn't how it actually works
