It's stupid how everyone suddenly assumes it's someone DDOS'ing the server. Perhaps Ephialtes decided to do some updating, or the server went down for technical reasons? something more reasonable then someone attacking the servers.

No, we know it's a DDoS on the master server. Badspot said so in another topic. When the master goes down,  the RTB server goes down as well. We know this from previous incidents. What we don't know, is who is responsible. That's what people need to stop speculating about.

Can't Ephi modify RTB to track when people log on to RTB, then compare those readings to when the DDOS starts?  Anyone not logged in that day can't be the perp.  Do this multiple times, limit the pool more.

DDOS attacks are a lot more frequent than updates or technical reason. it would be more logical to assume a DDOS.

The master server and forums have been under DDoS attack. RTB isn't under attack at all, it's just that it goes down when the master server goes down.

Unfortunately there is someone who's decided they want to rob the community of a free service and the RTB server has been under direct attack recently. There's nothing I can do about that but apologise - I'm not willing to invest my time or money into any kind of DOS protection so all I can do is take things down until the attacks subside.
