Try to pronounce a Finnish word

Author Topic: Try to pronounce a Finnish word  (Read 1097 times)

Since the Finnish language uses a pronunciation system "out of this world" when compared to other languages, I'd like to hear some of you attempt to pronounce one of these complicated words, so if you want to participate, go on Google translate, translate a word/sentence of your choice to Finnish, go on Vocaroo or a variant and give it a shot. The guy (or gal, of course) who does it best wins a piece of virtual cheese. Anyone who's Finnish is qualified as a judge, however anyone who's Finnish is also disqualified from the competition.

Oh and don't forget to mention what word you're trying to pronounce.
Wouldn't it be more fun if people (mostly the Finns) tried to guess what word someone tried to pronounce?

Impressive! I find it funny that literally every native English speaker I've heard speak Finnish has this same wobbly accent.

Impressive!
It sure is, but the fact that he already messed up on the first word makes his statement ironic.

Finnish isn't based on Latin, so you'd have trouble with it.
