This was a well made OP. Good Job

I like the J Arthur keenes band
I really like these guys. I love the way they add guitar, vocals, harmonica, and anything else that fits in with their amazing chiptunes.

since i'm banned from pms, my response

i don't make chiptune, I loop music that's already made. Idk how i'm included in this but okay lol

Is this considered Chipmusic?

Yes, that is most definitely chipmusic! It's most likely "fakebit" (composed with low-bit samples on a computer), but that doesn't mean it isn't chip.

I'll add a section to the OP about what is and isn't chipmusic soon.

Not really 100% chiptune but it counts right?
A lot of chipmusic isn't composed exclusively with low-bit sounds. You may be familiar with Anamanaguchi - as far as I know they've three guitarists, a drummer, an NES, and resources on par with Batman. And One of my all-time favorites was composed with a Game Boy and violin samples.

And it looks like that album was released under the 8bitpeoples netlabel - the holiest of all chip netlabels - too, so that's a good sign. Thanks for the share! I liked it. :3

Finally, a chiptunes thread! A lot of great artists you got up there

My favorite artists (no particular order)

The list goes on... I know I've got lots more on my iPod, I would consider myself a "collector" of sorts.
Hopefully we can keep it alive. :p Good artists! It seem's I've been listening to quite a bit of an0va recently myself. His set at BRK was pretty great, and he just released an EP today.

<3 i love chiptune

i used to make chiptunes but i wasn't very good at it. i made one decent six second jingle loop thing but everything else was terrible
What did you use to compose it? I'm not very familiar with PC-based trackers or samples from anything other than the Nintendo consoles, the Atari, and the Sega Genesis.

Thank you very much! <3

Welcome aboard. :p

Dualtrax & Artfx! - Coastline
Mark 'TDK' Knight - Hoovering with a Hangover
Twistboy - Springs

pretty sure these all count as chiptune, i'm still a bit new to the genre.
Yessir! Coastline (which I've listened to several times now lol) and maybe the second are fakebit, but they're still chip! The third one was definitely composed on a Game Boy. And both the second and third are Chip = Win tracks. :o

Anybody who isn't familiar with Chip = Win should definitely check them out! Their second annual release had a grand total of 52 tracks, each composed by a different artist. It's hot stuff.

tomorrow afternoon i'll try to remind myself to post a few really really good tunes i picked up around soundcloud

after your (end's) megapost of chiptunes in that previous thread (that megapost exists as a part of this OP now for those of you who didn't see it), i was inspired to scrounge every corner of the internet for as many chiptunes as possible. i've been playing video games, talking to friends, posting on this forum, eating, breathing, whatever, all while listening to this stuff for the past three weeks.

holy stuff when i type it out i realize how crazy i am

It doesn't seem like it should matter how they make the music, honestly.

Songs: Oh Delia (beek), Hackpack IV (menu) (Skyflash), Så här kan man också göra - (Dubmood and Zabutom), Herning '93 (Blues Muz)

Welcome to the party.

It doesn't! It's just a useful and widely-used term for describing how it was made. ;)

fl studio with triforce vst

i've made things using trackers before but i'm not very experienced with them and they aren't as intuitive to me

Sorry I haven't updated the thread lately. I've been overwhelmed by schoolwork. :P
3-DAY WEEKEND. EXPECT CHIPMUSIC.

AND OMG LOOK WHAT CAME IN THE MAIL THE OTHER DAY

picture of a bill

Solarbear and Justin Thursday put it together for me at BRKfest because I couldn't make it. :panda:

Neat! I've tried the demo to FL Studio but in the end it's just not for me. I absolutely LOVE FL Studio Mobile, though. It is the single handiest app I've ever bought.

OMG END UPDATED THE THREAD

8STATIC IS TODAY AND I... won't be there. :(
BUT HEY LOOK:

Today is a good day.

Oh, and for Kochieboy:

Coming October 15th!
