Author Topic: Do you think we should increase funding for NASA?  (Read 9549 times)

I honestly believe we can make an investment in space. Not only this, but find other life forms like us and other planets that we can inhabit some day. NASA is currently researching ways of traveling faster than the speed of light. This itself can serve great purpose in the future of space travel.

The sad part of this though, is that they have little funding to fulfill any of this

Thoughts?

I think we should worry about the stuff happening on Earth rather than spending money to find out what's going on beyond it at this moment.

don't even GET ME STARTED
1. memory foam
2. basically all modern lens technology
3. insoles
4. long distance telecommunications
5. smoke detectors
6. wireless technologies
7. water filters

For space things? Nope.

For stuff in the above post? Yep.

we cant even afford it, who gives a stuff about space, we arent going to find aliens in the next 100 years anyways might as well focus on fixing real problems

nasa laid the foundation, space exploration should be taken over by private corporations and nasa should spend more time on asteroids and exoplanet discovery

They can't really do that. Sure they can look at Exoplanets and Asteroids, but if an Asteroid was coming towards Earth they wouldn't be able to do anything.

I'm not? That's exactly the opposite of where I'm getting it from.

they're almost entirely unconcerned with what would happen if an asteroid would be on a potential impact course with earth, strangely, but rather what overall movements and patterns they can detect in asteroids and composition, debris, etc. nasa is not an acting organization on making asteroids divert from their paths, so it's useless to bring up the idea.

a real problem is that we're running out of stuff on this planet

also note that for most purposes, this is a crock of horsestuff. space is a non-issue, the only possible shortage in anyone's foreseeable future is fresh water usage.
