If you think about it, playing the distant gunshots like that kindof fits as it will blend with the original gunshot.
The closer you get, the more you'd hear the original, and less of the whoosh.

the distant sound is such a good idea but the sounds you chose are way too disgustingly loud and blaring that it isn't attractive at all, same with the up-close sounds.
