Rap isn't a "ridiculous attempt at poetry". Rap is poetry that is spoken. There's nothing that is different from poetry and rap; I don't know why you think they are two different things. Sure there are vulgar rap songs, but it's still poetry. There is no rule in poetry that says the words have to be a certain style.

Most of the time it's when people don't listen to rap that they assume it's all stuff like 2chainz and Rick Ross. It's not. I was politely telling him to go over to youtube and listen to some real rap that is modern because people seem to richardride both the olden days and richardride the people who say rap sucks just because some 7 year old covers rap that's bad.
