What are your thoughts on guilds?
This would allow for workers guilds, illuminati, assassins, political groups, etc

Take for example, you're more Left-wing Liberal: you join the Left Guild, and through their funding, support and advertising, you enter the political race. The Right Guild has raised only half as much as you because they have a smaller group, and not as many funds for running ads. In the end, you win because you had bigger balls you had a better campaign and the other guy had drama history.

Or take for example, you're a fairly good shot and you've got some talent at driving. On your own, that's no good, but with a group you can take out any high profile shot. You're the sniper that lays down covering fire. You're the cleanup crew. You're the getaway driver. You know every little shortcut there is. You're willing to risk everything to get away, like taking your van down an 8x wide alleyway. The cops may get you, but because you've earned your keep and you are worth something to the assassin's guild, they'll bust you out. Just be careful to avoid the Law Enforcement Guild.


I also had a couple other thoughts but I'm still figuring them out.

Will they also take the place of team chat?

What will the group functions be? Funding, team chat, member name color, perks?
Vaux has been coding them for a bit.

Maybe we can find a use for some of the trucks

Own a truck and fill it with the goods you wish to sell? So all of your wood/ores/etc can be contained within the truck?

Meh.. I should probably post..
I've procrastinated for as long as I can; I have been feeling lazy a.f. about everything for the last few days.



And yes I've been, and currently am, slowly working on Groups (Businesses, Guilds, Clans, Organizations, whatever you want to call them).

1: I don't think Vaux can handle that kind of hosting.  MOST likely not.  We'll look into other hosting options.
2: Is the mod capable of running 99 people max at the same time?  We haven't benchmarked it yet, but its safe to say, yes.
3: Is the mod capable of sustaining up to 10,000 people's info? You made a mention of this earlier, and I was curious if this had any effect.  Since every player's data is stored in its own separate file, the amount of files shouldn't matter.
4: Is there anything we should consider with the city and/or anything on my end that I should keep in mind?  Try to keep the brickcount as low as possible -- Optimize everything.  Even if you need any custom brick packs, we can whip something up.

If we do this we need a way to lock/unlock our vehicles so nobody takes off with a truck load of bricks because a client walked away, but if a client is sniped down a dark alley then the vehicle is fair game?
So a key item to lock/unlock vehicles.

trucks probably won't fit in alleys.
