It might be a different story if we had a loving build

Hi guys, I guess it's time I should put out an official statement.  To put it bluntly, CityMod has effectively shifted to stagnation through a number of factors over the past month; school started, I got burnt out from carrying the blunt of the work and needed a break, we didn't have a map build after numerous attempts, Brian kept going on "vacations", and generally, life took over.  I'm deeply sorry it had to come to such in this manner, but I'm burnt out and Brian doesn't seem to have any incentive/inspiration to finish the mod.  Even so, I'm now open to the idea of handing the mod over to a trustworthy coder so that he may build upon or learn from our progress.  I would like to help out the Blockland community in this or any other way so that the "CityRPG wheel" doesn't get re-invented for the nth time.  Either way, I guess we'll see what direction things go from here on -- I'll still be willing to continue progress but producing a big mod is an ample amount of work and I'm tired of doing 90% of it.  Regardless, I thank you guys for your continuous support and now, your understanding.

Also if anyone is interested, those three four things we had to complete before beta were as follows:

God, the old City RP's were so annoying. Everything was disorganized. But, I have one thing that REALLYYY bugs me.
Destroying a vehicle that isn't yours, and then taking damage from it charges the vehicle's owner with assault. Also, the destroyer doesn't get any demerits whatsoever, allowing him to blow up ALL vehicles around town and basically make the cops rich.
Another thing I have to admit- You can camp near a brick to pay demerits at, kill someone, then IMMEDIATELY pay demerits. This is so loving disorganized. Anyone can open a gang and get paid to kill people, meanwhile NONE of the gang can get arrested because they immediately pay dems. Also, some jobs spawn with a weapon, allowing you to go through the cycle of being shot, respawning, shooting, being shot, blah. You can basically thwart cops.
Please make sure none of the above happens in this mod. Also, some ideas:
  • Add brand new crimes such as vehicle theft, property damage, and more
  • Please add some stable drug system where you can actually use the drugs rather than just farming and selling them. Smoking drugs should leave some smoke so that cops can see you doing it if they are near. For the other drugs, I don't know. But please make it so criminals can't really snort cocaine in front of cops and have the cop not see anything. To add, using drugs should give the user some benefit, so that it's not just there for fun.
  • Add a loan system- it'd be great if you can loan money from the bank
  • Let people bail other people out of jail
  • Add thirst and energy, and of course, have hunger. Except, instead of just buying food from the store, you get an item that you can eat/drink, so that you don't have to camp near a store to live. Food and drinks should give you energy, but different amounts of energy for different types of food. Also, add bed bricks- clicking a bed brick will put you into sleep mode. While you are sleeping, you cannot move at all, and if this is possible, black out the sleeper's screen. Right clicking will make you get out of bed. Sleeping for 30 seconds will restore 50 energy.
  • Make it so being shot and killed by cops arrests you. Of course, you must have at least a 4 star wanted level for cops to kill you, or its a crime for them. No more killing a criminal and waiting by spawn to arrest them
  • DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BROADCAST KILLS TO THE SERVER. The reason behind this is pretty obvious.
    Let cops somehow find out. Also, it'd be great if you could remove the "view online criminals" thing and make it so that cops have to actually find evidence to arrest someone, unless a crime is commited near a cop.
  • Make a rule against talking about your past life if you have been killed. Being able to respawn after being shot and tell a cop about your death and murderer is unfair.
  • Remove nametags. Clicking a player should let you easily identify them. No more sniping as a cop from across the map to kill criminals.
  • Cops should need search warrants to look for drugs. When they get the search warrant, they can bust into any locked door with a special tool
  • Add the ability to lock cars and doors
  • Add a lockpick tools that is sort of difficult to craft, and allows you to break into locked cars and locked doors.
Sorry if anyone of this has already been discussed, I can't keep up with so many pages lol.
Now that I think of it, I don't really want to play on any City RPG's running Iban's system anymore..

this is a new mod with new possibilities and drugs could easily be rethought

also, it's not really difficult to rapidly change the drug user's FOV and change vignettes around, so, why not?
also holy stuff i hope i didn't overwhelm him with the ideas, lol

Okay, I get it. It would be difficult to really decide that as a rule or not because in the real world if you would die, you'd die, period. I mean, it's kind of real life business because it's reporting a crime, witness (could also be you) can report crimes and it's totally normal. Think about reporting a person that assaulted you, it's the same dilemma.

It's a RP term, metagaming. It's basically distributing or using information gained in non-RP ways, like dying and using the knowledge you gained BEFORE death to your RP benefit. Also using any out of game information (forums, your friend) to your advantage.
