Author Topic: Battlefield 3 lagspikes, help me  (Read 1303 times)

So I just got the humble origin bundle for Battlefield, but when I join a game I can run around for about 15-30 sec fine before my game goes complete apestuff and lags like a motherforgeter. I've already googled my problem and have found multiple 'solutions' (neither of which worked). I've updated my graphics drivers, typed some commands in the console and some other stuff.

I'm running on the bare minimum graphic options but that doesn't do stuff.

Here's a video for those who want to see the problem.

My two buddies who also bought it can run it just fine and doesn't seem to give a damn if I can't play.

that wouldn't affect his fps tho
which is what I'm assuming he is talking about, bc it's easy to tell the difference between framerate issues and connection issues

oh
well when it starts to lag spike, pull up the task manager and try to find another process which is hogging all your processor power.
that's usually the case when i hit a lag spike

I turned off skype and steam, didn't do stuff.

how minimum are your settings tho
try with the lowest resolution and in fullscreen

I put them on the -low- setting. Already tried the fullscreen low resolution, it's no use,

does it have a windowed mode?
that seems to improve performance

I'm not positive but I think fullscreen is better for performance
not by much, I bet, but still
it just makes it more difficult to switch to other windows

but anyway I doubt it's related to any settings if it consistently happens, but works fine up until a certain point

Are you running more than one gpu
And what type of cpu do you have

Someone on the bf3 forums suggested that I roll back my graphics driver as anything above 314 causes issues. I felt like this fixed the lag a small bit but not enough for the game to actually be playable.
