Yes, Windows XP is tried-and-true, but why are the two other options older operating systems? Of course people would prefer XP to them.
Whether or not XP is better, or at the very least comparable to newer operating systems is pretty much subjective.
the point being that it was far better than its predecessors? people are bashing it incoherently because it's as old as them without actually providing any reasoning behind it aside from "slow" which is easily attributable to the out-of-date hardware of the era
you can put xp on any modern hardware and it will function fine
So you're attacking people like a rabid monkey over a matter of appearance?
what? i've been calm the entire time
i only mentioned appearance because xp obviously doesn't have a sleek UI because it was intended to be more utilitarian and focus on ease of access than looking pretty
direct x 10 and 11 would like to have a word with you
directx 10 was shipped half a decade after xp was released, and directx 11 was 8 years later
of course i would choose xp simply because it's the latest of the three and is therefore more advanced
and you'd choose it because it wasn't worse than its predecessors
vista was worse than xp when it came out, the security features and hardware requirements were so overbearing it became impractical to use the OS for a while until they fixed enough of the problems to make it usable
i skipped from xp to windows 7 because vista was a piece of trash
I wouldn't use XP today. Since it is not supported anymore that means all the hackers have probably found all the security exploits for there malware.
xp is still getting security patches until april 8 2014
