Author Topic: I start college tomorrow!  (Read 4974 times)

Ladies and gentlemen,
Kentucky.
Nah it's like there almost everywhere. Operating a vehicle without the ability to hear road conditions (especially one where you're unprotected) is a stupid thing to do.

First class tomorrow at 8:30.

I start on the 4th of September

Last I heard its illegal to have headphones in while bike riding.
At least here it is.

But it's so nice to listen to your favorite tunes while riding your bike on a nice cold windy day. :(

Take care of your general ed first. You might think you know what you want to do, but you might change you mind later. Also since you are in a dorm at some 4 year school try not to party much, a lot of students just start to party too much and then drop out.

Its a distraction and therefore illegal in my state :c

Yeah its my first three days here and everyone is obsessed with partying. Its getting annoying.

you can't judge it until a couple weeks in, when all the do nothings have dropped out or actually realized they have to work somewhat.

I move into my Dorm on the 22nd D:

So scareddd

I never thought I would get this far in life-

That is so sad.

I don't feel bad for you.

Ya got your ramen ready lol

Have you tried it? I'm not saying to go out and get wasted / do stupid stuff, but you're three days in so even if any of your classes have started your courseload shouldn't be enough justification to stop you from meeting the people in your dorm.

I commute to college so my experience so far has been kind of stuffty. I really want to get into doing more stuff on campus this year. Whatever you do don't be a little friend and not go to any parties or anything. I didn't and I really regret it. I'm not saying go out and get stufffaced all the time but really you need to go out and do stuff. Don't just spend every waking hour studying.

Freshman year isn't as hard as everyone makes it out to be. If you actually show up and pay attention you'll be fine. Skipping classes is really what will make you do bad. If you pay attention and show up you won't have to spend hours studying. I ended up studying only for tests and I did pretty well my first semester. I started not showing up last semester and did awful, I ended up having to take a summer chem class to fix my gpa.

In short, have fun and make sure you actually show up to classes. Also don't buy books before the end of the first week. You might not need some of them and books are super expensive.

I have nothing against partying, but most college parties tend to involve and consist of only drugs, booze, and love. It's just a way to get into trouble. I think that studying is a priority, you shouldn't overdo it though. It still is a #1 priority as a student honestly.
