First, it's JavaScript. One word, capitalized J, capitalized S. Not to be confused with Java.

As for tutorials, CodeCademy teaches you JavaScript pretty well; I'd learn from them.

JavaScript alone isn't good for games, which is why I recommend you learn how to use HTML5's canvas. Another option is using a framework, like Crafty.

Also, this should probably go under creativity.
