Author Topic: got my razer blackwidow today  (Read 5549 times)

my USB keyboard doesn't actually start up until the login screen so I have a PS/2 keyboard that starts immediately (in-case I need to use it on start-up)

rip compaq
We still have a Compaq keyboard or 2 here. And 2 Compaq monitors. And a Compaq PC.
Compaq shalt live on.

omg that keyboard is actually really lovey give it to me please

I loving love it. It's got a satisfying click to it and its so easy to use

This. No point in buying a super omega fancy keyboard when a $9 one works just as good. Only reason I have a new one is because a PC I was borrowing only accepted USB keyboards.
I wouldn't mind having a few macro keys, but I sure don't want one of those dumb as balls keyboards with unnecessarily obnoxious LEDs and all that stuff.

A few macro keys wouldn't hurt. But you sure don't need a 50 extra key keyboard lol.

It came with the iMac.

i have this as well

i don't get why so many people spend money on fancy keyboards when normal generic ones work fine, but idk, i've always used really simple keyboards

pacha can you get on skype pls

It's because the 'fancy' keyboards are actually backwards mechanical (but obviously 'enhanced) old keyboards.
Old keyboards (IBM Model M and not only) used a mechanical switch which was considered very useful but obsolete, expensive and could break even more quickly.
It has been mostly discounted then the rubber dome keyboards (which are the cheap keyboards you are talking about) because they don't break as much and can handle spills.
However, the mechanical models arrived, still being expensive due to each switch having a mechanism, instead of a rubber dome, is still considered more efficient, but it fixes the problems with the old keyboards (dull keys, short lifespan etc.) with multiple models. Clicky, for gaming, etc., models which can't be sustained by a simple rubber-dome, which for the most part is mid-ranged. If you are to look at all the Mechanical mechanisms the best contrast would be Red-Blue. You can't have any contrast or any variation on a rubber dome. The only difference you can have on a rubber dome is the shape of the key. Rubber dome keyboards are also mass-produced and oftenly varied as "useful" compared to the "useless" mechanical keyboards, which don't have that much of a market share. But that doesn't mean that they aren't good. Many people who changed to mechanical didn't want to go back.

he doesnt have a computer you idiot

i love my corsair m65 gaming mouse, but honestly to me buying a new keyboard isnt worth it

a mouse has so many functions and differences, dpi and the fact you need it to play FPS gaming

as long as your keyboard has good response time i mean, flat keys, raised keys, mechanical switches, it's all the same to me, 0.0005 extra response time for mechanical switches for having a gunshot noise every time you push a key isn't really attractive to me

but anyways, i like that keyboard, it looks sweet, i just wouldnt invest in one

oh my god that's gorgeous

I really don't see the point of paying over a hundred bucks for a keyboard when it doesn't have any special functionality beside looking good (appearance). It just isn't worth it.
