From what I've seen, it looks like crap.

You can say whatever you want, but your opinion is worthless until you've played it. It's illogical how good this is.

just brought this and it's loving sick

BAZ IS TOP TIER

seriously everyone; this game may make fun of itself and other fighting games but it is not a joke game. you're not paying 10 dollars for a joke fighting game, you're paying $10 for an actually really fun two button brawler.

also taboo this game has friends only matches right cuz i want to fight and also beat you

Hell, I wanna join in on this as well! Screw the haters, I've been having a blast. Moreso than really any other fighting game besides Skullgirls.

The art style is quite meh, but mind you, the art nor animations aren't the draw to this. The core gameplay is actually fun, competitive, and quite salty. Removing the barriers to fighting games, people can finally experience the tension that goes into playing these as well the depth of skill, planning, and manipulation that a single move requires. If nothing else, it goes to show you how SF and other big fighting games make divekicking such OP as forget. Also, fighting games are surpisngly expensive to develop and this is a budget title.

Overall, try and see if you're willing to give it a shot when it goes on sale. Hopefully online is fixed(I've had no issues tho yet) and we shall see who is the KING OF TEH SALT. forget YOU MEGA AND YOUR BAZ.

'Sides, if Surgeon Simulator is allowed to exist, why shouldn't Divekick than?

'Sides, if Surgeon Simulator is allowed to exist, why shouldn't Divekick than?
Because Surgeon Simulator at least seems like there's more to it then just one action the whole time.

Divekick has a lot more going on than one action at one time. It relies entirely on movement via a single characters main attack and manages to encorperate intense concepts such as zoning as a core mechanic as well as being purely based on skill. This stuff is insanely high level. If you don't play fighting games, you're not going to get what makes this game great. This is not a game for scrubs and people who don't like simplified high level play.

What you really need to understand here is that the simple mechanics of the game and the numerous characters with many many attack options and strategies are purely built around concepts to introduce pure skill. This is no less of a fighting game than any currently on the market.

I'm not going to go into the mechanics and how supportive of sick plays they are. All you need to understand is that every single thing is there for a reason, and is done deliberately. It is astonishing that a game can have such depth while retaining a two button control scheme with no stick controls AT ALL.

Also BAZ IS THE BEST.

lol they actually trick people into paying ten bucks for this? thats hilarious

Hmm, I can see that. Still, the problem I had with Surgeon Simulator is that when you're finished with all the operations, there is really no reason to go back and replay it, at least to me when I tried it at a friend's house. Not to mention the whole QWOP controls get annoying really, really fast. Hell, Mount Your Friends did the QWOP concept more justice than both Surgeon Simulator and even QWOP itself imho. And yes, that is a real game that is unfortunately confined to the hell that is XBOX Live Indie Games. And it's a good game too imo.

Divekick is really the type of game you have to experience before you write it off. It both parodies and captures the essence of playing tournament fighters. It's just a shame people are writing this game off already without giving it a try.

Stillllllllllll.........To each their own. Hopefully people don't write off Skullgirls as nothing more than a fan-service anime brawler without looking up how it does away with annoying traits of the fighter like the anti-infinite combo system and it's surprisingly in-depth tutorial.

Don't always write off stuff based on appearance.

Also, if you guys are looking to find a match with me, look up gturtle96 on Steam and add me. We can than both show how bad we are at this game :D :P
