Author Topic: Twenty-Two Reasons Not to Go Vegetarian  (Read 8010 times)

The article says that men who drink fruit juice are likely to get Parkinson's, are you kidding me? At one point on the news they were saying that apples can cause cancer.
They'll say anything if it makes people unhealthy or afraid, I promise you.

A lot of these sources or universities probably get paid to do these nonsensical studies. Anything to make money.

Quote
The Honolulu Heart Study found an interesting correlation of Parkinson’s disease with the consumption of fruit and fruit juices. 16 Men who consumed one or more servings of fruit or fruit drinks per day were twice as likely to develop Parkinson’s as those who consumed less fruit. Commentators proposed either high levels of pesticides or natural nerve toxins called isoquinolones that occur in fruit as the cause. Salicylates are another component of fruit that can lead to problems. So even the consumption of “healthy” fruit is not necessarily safe.

They didn't say they are likely to get Parkinson's for drinking fruit juice. They said they are more likely to develop Parkinson's compared to the people who consumed less fruit/drinks servings per day.

We're all gonna die eventually.

But I'm proud of people who have the willpower to prolong that death.

Exactly. And who pays them to do these studies, exactly? And what do those people stand to gain from such things?

Medical. Do you know just how much a MASS profit medical industries make? No, I'm not saying every doctor is evil and only wants money. I'm saying that even good, honest doctors are being fooled into making people get sicker.

Yeah I realized I just jumped like three topics there. Shamelessly.

why would you need 22 reasons to not go vegetarian

you are what you eat, eat good food and be happy.

If you heard how much the pharmaceutical industry made, you'd get 40 strokes. They even profit on medications not approved by the FDA. I still wanna go vegetarian or at least vegan though.

I'm addicted to beef jerky, it's just that good.
Well good luck with that.

My advice? Go to Chipotle. I'm not sure if they have a restaurant where you live, but the place is awesome, and all of their food, meat or not, is guaranteed fresh and healthy. Monsanto and other big food corporations have nothing to do with it, and the food is amazingly good.

I know where there are ton of ranches up in California, they have tons of grass for the cows to eat. Love grassfed meat, it has a nice fat to meat ratio. Also since they are outside they are happy and taste better when they die happy. Unlike factory cattle.

Exactly. All of the food industries seem to forget that. They focus only on making money, and mass production. A cow that's born in a factory and dies in a factory does NOT make for a good meat product, under any conditions. It's even worse with how many chemicals are pumped into the meat.

Speaking of that, beware. Even if they are grass fed and grown outside, watch for chemicals that they may put into the meat after it's been butchered. That can still make it pretty bad.

I like meat because it tastes good.

In order of my favorite

Chicken
Beef
Pork

I hate pork

I live by a Chipolte, I go there once or twice a week. The food is amazing, it's always fresh and cooked well, and the meat is great (mainly the shredded beef carnitas). I always ask for extra corn too, it's so sweet. The best part is they put cilantro in almost everything. Chipolte is really fatty though, but there you get a meal with balanced nutrients. It is better to at least get some fat.
