I didn't read the article, but I'll probably poke at it later. However, I do live in a relatively healthy family, my mother being a bit of a health nut. And let me just say this.
The human race evolved and expanded to the top of the food chain for a goddamn reason. Not to eat carrots. Not to munch on leaves. But to consume ANYTHING that's viable. Which includes meat AND plant matter. Not one or the other.
Now, I do understand why some would go vegetarian to save the animals, however handicapped the reasoning. Those animals are going to die either way. What I don't like about most common meat eaters is that they're MASSIVELY supporting the industries liking to abusing, butchering, and factory growing meat, and stuffing it with more drugs than would be necessary in a CHEMICAL PLANT. Many of these very same chemicals are EXTREMELY harmful to the human body and brain, in many different ways.
Thus, I eat proper, free range meat whenever possible, though once in a great while I do spoil myself with a double bacon cheeseburger or two. However, some people actually can't properly digest meat. That's mostly because their ancestors survived mainly off of river/ocean fish and plants, and their diets and blood types adapted to that, rather than, say, beef.
