Author Topic: Anyone have a nightmare, wake up, and something odd happen?  (Read 1830 times)

Sometimes I cannot move, combined with a cold sweat, and seeing a creepy man in the corner of my room.

Sometimes I actually found the courage to get up and turn on the light, but it's so hard to get myself to move.

Anyone have anything like this, or have there own tale to tell?

Exploding head syndrome, that is all.

Once I had 4 false awakenings in a row.

FOUR IN A loving ROW

What is the sound you hear?

There will be times where I find myself in my bed sleeping, then I wake up and see myself watching me sleep and then actually wake up

Some people would actually call that astral projection.

But you just probably had what Ippy had too.

My first few days at military academy I had the same thing. I would have horrible nightmares and when I woke up there would sometimes be people standing at my bedside staring at me, sometimes screaming at me, or a man sitting down in the corner of the room watching me. Are you stressed, OP? You may be having hallucinations from stress.

What's it like waking up each time?

Well, considering I am trying to keep my ass so far in the closet that it is in Narnia, it could be a bit stressful.

That's why I started to meditate.

Damnit I have to sleep with my light on now sense you guys made me paranoid of waking up and hallucinating.
forget.

The condition you had is known as sleep paralysis, which is completely normal and is often a side-effect from certain methods of lucid dreaming, but that's not the only way it happens. I'm not an expert on dreaming (I've been unable to recall my dreams since I was about 6), but I have heard my friends talk about it. I suggest you do more research on it, though. Sorry I wasn't much help.

actually I re-read the OP and it seems like you're just experiencing sleep paralysis

im no sleep expert but im p sure it just happens when your mind is awake before your body which causes stuff to forget up and you start getting strange auditory and visual hallucinations, often scary / shocking

just know you're not in any danger, they aint real

I know about sleep paralysis, and lucid dreaming, and astral projection.

I gave up on lucid dreaming when I figured out scary stuff happens.
and I mean super scary stuff can happen.

I haven't had a nightmare in over a year.

i had a nightmare last night
