Author Topic: I want a ps3 but my dad is very mean  (Read 6128 times)

Seriously what the forget does this even mean
I'm just going to assume you're a handicap for saying it.

Damn guys, you are all so pompous. Are you all trying to say that there's never been a time where your parents declined to do something you really wanted and you were upset about it? Kids are naturally ungrateful for what their parents do for them because it's unconditionally given, you only gain that gratefulness once you can reflect and see how much they really did for you. In 10 years when this kid looks back and realizes that he really doesn't care that his dad didn't get him a PS3 because it has no games anyway, then he will understand why all of you are calling him ungrateful. Until then, you're all just being savage.

Age really doesn't matter in this situation. He appears to be a total idiot in some stuff I pulled out:
I really really want a ps3. Half of my school class has a console and all I have is a very stuffty pc that can hardly run linux and a psp. My mom bought me a psp two years ago and i dont really play on it. I really want a ps3 because all i use my pc for is gaming and i can't afford a gaming computer for stuff. So if you have the ability to purchase stuff as well if you have the cash, then two questions: why are you asking your parents for stuff? and why aren't you working for that money?, also battlefield 3 and other loving awesome games are for ps3. Battlefield 3 is also on Xbox 360, which is probably cheaper (but don't quote me on that) but the problem is that my dad is so loving mean he will never buy me one and also my dad bought me school books which was like 100 euro and for us thats a lot. So I need some help with convincing him to buy me a ps3. Excuse me princess, but school's just around the corner. If all you want to do is play video games then life's going to be hell for you. Help please.

Not to mention that one point I talked about in blue proves that op can't be a young child.

This is a really dumb point. Just, beyond stupid. "Don't give kids anything or else they might flunk out of school."
But yeah, OP is probably just being a brat.

edit:
All the people who come on these threads saying "be lucky you even have food to eat" are stupid as well lol
What slammer meant was, if he DID get him the PS3 and not the school books instead then he would spend all his time playing games instead of studying for school. Then he wouldn't be ready for a test and his grades would go down, unless hes one of those kids that actually listens in class and takes notes.

First off, don't put your loving quote replies inside the quotes. I can't quote them now, at the immense loss of clarity.

He's 13 years old. He's not even legally old enough to work on his parents farm if his parents owned one, that's a 14 year old age limit. He clearly can't get a legal source of income, and aside from the obvious problem of circumventing child labor laws by him soliciting jobs that pay under-the-table from neighbors, his parents are legally required to purchase him what he needs. If he says "Mom, I need food!" and she replies "No, pefu, you don't get food" that is not acceptable regardless of the irrelevancy concerning his physical ability to purchase food. I'm not saying his parents are legally required to purchase their children everything they want, but saying "work for your stuff" to a 13 year old makes me think you're a mongoloid. That plus you replied inside the quote.

Battlefield 3 is also on Xbox 360, which is probably cheaper (but don't quote me on that)
If his dad won't buy him a PS3 why do you think he'll go out and buy an Xbox 360? I'm sure the $80 price difference between the two isn't 100% of the reason his dad won't buy him a console.

Excuse me princess, but school's just around the corner. If all you want to do is play video games then life's going to be hell for you.
Excuse me, but he never said all he wants to do is play video games. You're assuming for some reason that the acquisition of a gaming console would shift all of his exoscholastic time into playing video games.

Basically, your audit of his intellect is worthless. He's not a "total handicap," he's a kid that's jealous his friends have a game console that he doesn't.

Come on guys, we've all told him the same crap, lets just leave this thread...

His dad isnt getting him a ps3 because he knows the ps4 is right around the corner and that his kid will be nagging him for a ps4 in 5 months.

me and my brothers always saved up money to buy our video game stuff. we bought our gamecube and all the games (except for the ones we got on christmas) and we bought our ps3 and all the games. seems more then fair seeing as our parents will be giving us free food and shelter until we are 18. i mean op is prob really young though but should still understand that you cant always just get what you want, go mow some lawns or something idk.

This is coming from someone who thinks they're better than everyone else, and we should listen to everything he says.

My point exactly.

Haha, did anyone actually listen to me?

nop

I love these kinds of threads where someone rants about this kind of thing, we all bash them, and then you never see them reply again anywhere in the thread.

It makes me chuckle.

if a kid earned and saved half the money on his own and asked parents if they could pay the rest, thats kinda impressive. and it might work more often.

cuz kids these days cant save money if their life depended on it.
re; the 100 topics a month we see here titled "i have X amount of money, what do i buy!?!?!?!"

Last year, I was the only one in my grade with a PS3...

Complain somewhere else.
