so this is what i want is a Base Plate then a Sphere around the plate the plate should be X4 64X64 plate for plenty of building room

Collision would be extremely glitchy.

but it would be a fix for need of planets the map that hade planets worked relly well..untill maps where removed :P

I only 4x cubes forming any power of 2 cube, making an explosion in the central cube to create a sphere thing, later, delete the bricks which dont got killed.

what?

Just use .dts collision?

With a DTS it wouldn't.

OP are you okay with not being able to use zone bricks inside the planet? The only way to make the top half of the sphere is to make it a zone so you can actually build inside the planet. Doing this locks out terrain and water bricks but you can use everything else. I could do this fairly easily but it's going to take a few days or a week.

Why not just make the faces outside of the bounding box?

The visual faces aren't the problem. You're still placing the bounding box which is the brick and two bricks cannot be inside one another.

Wait. I could actually just make everything one brick and make the top half have no collision. Problem solved.

Next problem: The inside ground texture. Two options:
1. Studs that DO NOT rotate towards the sun direction because the studs are a print/texture.
2. Ramp texture or plain color.

I'm thinking of doing 8x, 16x, 32x, 96x, and 128x sized planets.

Edit: Another drawback with these is the fact that the planet texture has to be huge so it isn't pixel mush. This leads to longer load times.

I'm not asking you since you quite clearly don't care how these bricks look. I'm asking people who have an opinion on the various alternatives I'm presenting.
