What've you made, in Starmade

Yes, I understand that Starmade has it's own forums, but I think that the people of Blockland are a little.. unique compared to those forums. Thus, I'd like to know what YOU people have made. I'm simply curious as to what your creations so far are, your inspiration, what urged you to build it, etc. I'll start it off with a creation of my own because I'm a prick.

The Anti-Matter Barge. The entire cylinder is basically a large gun spaced apart with shields and power generators to keep the cannons from interfering with one another. The left wing is a hanger bay, the right wing contains the command center as well as being chocked full of MORE shields and power cells. Mostly shields.







This is an in-progress photo, to give you an idea of how the central cylinder was designed.


Basically, I had an idea floating around my head. A pair of pylons a space apart, with a large container between them made up of weapons. I had originally intended the pylons to be.. well, pylons, and the central cylinder to be much smaller than this, but that got sort of out of hand. Now it's a flying tube of indestructible doom and destruction, having a metric forgetton of shield power as well as being covered in heavy armor from stem to stern.

To be honest, all of those ships are complete crap. None of those weapons or thrusters should be able to be seen.

...Those.. were added quite a while ago, actually. Basically floating disks, but they have their own gravity and biomes. No creatures yet, sadly. Nor factions.

To be honest, all of those ships are complete crap. None of those weapons or thrusters should be able to be seen.

There was only one ship posted.. Mine. No one else has any images up. Also.. I'm happy with constructive criticism, but.. really? I'd appreciate it if you didn't just flat out insult it. I worked fairly hard on it.

And that thing has a metric forgetton of shields. It relies on that to cover it up. And it can stand to lose a few engines if the shield fails. And speaking of that, how exactly am I supposed to cover the guns without having them blast a hole in my ship every time I fire?

Anyways, I don't play Starmade much, but your ship has some flaws and looks kinda "boring", First of all the engines, power supply and weapons (besides the front) shouldn't be shown, it should be covered up with blocks otherwise they can easily be shot off. The shape is a little bit blocky, it would be nice if it was more round, or had some indents and outdents, give it some shape. The ship is rather generic as well, so why not give it your own unique taste to it?

Perhaps you could add an interior to the ship, if it already doesn't have one, or add wings, and so on.

Mostly on the Anti-Matter Barge I was looking for functionality. Despite what it looks like, a fair bit of the engines are actually covered, mostly on the side pods. They extend back into the armor plating a fair bit. The exposed main engine was mostly for aesthetics in the back. If I covered it up, I think it would look pretty oversized for the ship. I may be wrong, but that's just my thoughts on it. The rest of it looks blocky because I was mostly focused on just covering the rest of it up in armor, and if I covered up the guns on the front it'd just blast off the hull plating every time I fired, exposing the guns again. (I've fired at a large amount of heavy armor hull with this thing. It just doesn't care.)

As far as I understand, those were always in there. I may be wrong.

Are you loving kidding me? I gave you criticism, I said cover your loving stuff. Shields don't protect your ship like hulls can, and last time I played you could shoot through blocks. If your ship met any serious ship, it'd be destroyed within seconds, or at least incapacitated to the point where you could not effectively fight back.

...Yes. Good advice on how to cover them up without looking like trash, OR not flat out insulting it as an introduction to your "constructive" criticism. And again. While you're giving some actual advice in this post.. You're still flat out insulting the ship and saying it's a piece of stuff. I can take advice and constructive criticism. I can't take people being starfishs just because they don't like something. Insults and blatant verbal attacks on something are NOT constructive. It just makes people feel bad about what they've made and make them want to quite more.
