Author Topic: bMail - Receive Mail When Your Offline!  (Read 1675 times)

I was thinking of a Client Mod that is called bMail which makes you receive and send text, and receive once your online.

The main point of this mod is that due to RTB does not give you messages until your online, and they dont postpone until the target is online, but with this mod, you can send messages even when hes offline, and recieve once you come online.

Heres how it will work:
- Target must have the mod
- Then there will be a "bMail" button in Menu Screen
- bMails generate like this: (NAMEHERE)_(BL_IDHERE)@bMail.com. (e.g: Outpact_26043@bMail.com).
- You will be able to give messages once he/she/its online

I hope this mod is detailed, and if theres a mod like that, Please let me know...

You want someone to host a server that runs pretty much an RTB clone, but for emails?

Also, your method for email accounts is invalid

my Blockland name is "MARBLE MAN", with a space

You might want the player to register an account

he's talking about something along the lines of steam's offline messaging system

Whoa whoa. Wouldn't it be easier to just make a client to add to rtb a offline messaging support?

It doesn't work like that.

why the forget not??
Well, actually you wouldn't really be adding to RTB. It has to be a completely different service.

but why?

I don't see why there can't be messages stacked onto one ID in rtb, since you already have irc capabilities

is it a bandwidth problem?

No he means epho would have to put it in himself client mods won't work in this situation.

Time to reply some quotes...
1.
This already exists.

True, but in blockland way, its like RTB Layout:
[You have New mail] on the bottom right like RTB Systems, and is much more compatible.

something along the lines of"you have to store the messages somewhere and since their client isn't running and you can't count on the sender to keep their client running there has to be something in the middle"

Ephi could probably make this very quickly :/ if he cared

No, it's not a quick feature to implement.

I bugged him making this but he thinks its useless, for example.
Just say you have a best friend who actually cares about you, without saying goodbye, i mean yes, leave a message, but RTB, OH COME ON! Your friend would be dead serious where are you, true that you have email phone, what if you met him from the GAME? And leave the game for one month and thats the thing you get, an unsuprised goodbye.
