Author Topic: suggest me good smartphone apps/ games  (Read 1486 times)

I recently got an s4, and decided to maybe get a game or 2 to sometimes pass time
suggest me stuff, the whole google play store is full of stuff so I couldnt find anything appealing

There should be a megathread on quality smartphone games.

I recommend Spelltower and Real Boxing.

blitz brigade, shadowgun deadzone, robotek. I have all of them and they're great fun and surprisingly decent for mobile games.

all free too

You might want to specify that you're looking for android games in the title, "smartphone" isn't very specific

Fruit Ninja
Pretty sure everyone has heard of this one but you slice fruit as it flies up on screen, avoiding bombs while making sure fruit doesn't fall off screen without being sliced (there are score attack modes, too), has payment options to make things easier/quicker but you can do everything without spending a cent

Temple Run 2
Quick-time-event-like game, unfortunately requires either a lot of grinding or incredible skill & luck passed a certain point if you don't want to pay

Jungle Heat
Semi-online game, build a military base to prevent players from stealing your resources while creating an army to return the favor, also has single-player campaign options

Pixel Dungeon
Roguelike modeled after Brogue, features low-res graphics instead of ASCII and is naturally tough as nails

Meteor Blitz
Paid, twin-stick space shooter, basically Asteroids with upgrades and enemies

Radiant
Paid, Galaga on steroids with neon Space Invaders graphics, multitudes of different upgradable weapons

Pixel Dungeon
Roguelike modeled after Brogue, features low-res graphics instead of ASCII and is naturally tough as nails

9th Dawn: Fun but difficult with a ridiculous difficulty slope RPG. But it's worth it.
Asphalt: 7 is better than 8 in my opinion, because 8 became even more arcade. Up to you, but they are nice racing games for Android. If not the best.
Beat Hazard: It's PC alternative, I actually feel like the Android version has even more features for some reason, anyway it's fun regardless.
Doodle Jump: Hard to explain, but it gets you into it and it's time-consuming. Eventually you'll begin racing with your friends.
Hill Climb Racing: The only good Trials alternative with lots of stuff to do. Mostly cars, upgrades and maps to get.
Pulse: Press things based on songs. I guess it's a easier version of Osu even though this is more linear and you have the things you need to press on a circle centered on the screen. Regardless, it gets really hard on later levels. Unfortunately, no custom songs.
Super Hexagon: ASDF.
SpeeDX: ASDF.
Worms: Worms for mobile. Get it if you like Worms.

*All ASDF games are games meant to make you rage.

JetCar Stunts. Still has THE best responsiveness for tilt controls for any car game.

Pixel Dungeon
Roguelike modeled after Brogue, features low-res graphics instead of ASCII and is naturally tough as nails

this is the only good one

I'm not sure about android, but i know for iphones you can get a bunch of nes games, like chrono trigger.
There's also a Gameboy emulator.
