Is anyone else getting a big KONY2012 vibe here? uh yeah me too

EDIT: whoops yeah didn't see rest of thread

Really, people... Since I'm near the top of the page this time:
To all you people saying it isn't technologically possible:

100 years ago, most people were 100% convinced we'd never get to space.

Back when computers were the size of half your house, nobody thought that they'd one day fit in your pocket while being 100s of times faster and more powerful.

Back when steam engines (not locomotives) began to be attached to carts and such, nobody was open to the idea that they could be actually useful. Now, we have millions of cars traversing roads worldwide, 24/7.

If you don't give technology a chance, and dismiss it without first testing it extensively, how do you expect us to make progress in the technological world?

Good Lord a lot of you are like the Catholic Church during the medieval ages. (or any age for that matter)

Wouldn't this work the same way a PC would?

Someone clarify how this wouldn't work please.
i cant plug my ram into a pci slot and have it work

That's why you develop interchangeable slots. That's why it's development.

Calm down boy, it's not as easy as you make it sound. That's like saying to pop out a SUV motor, replace it with a motor of a Bugatti and there you go you got yourself a Bugatti SUV.

electronics arent designed to break or outdate.
that is what poor people want to believe. like there is some corporate world conspiracy to make us buy more stuff.
and all the competing companies are still in on it together.

a plan like that would need you to remain brand loyal, and thats impossible.

electronics break easy and outdate because they are made as affordable as possible, and competition is intense and develops quickly.

they claim this would still allow competition, to create all the little components.
but all it does is monopolize the entire concept to a single company, and they receive fees from companies that they will allow to sell parts for it.

then in the end, you have apple, samsung, and 5 others all coming out with their own version of phonebloks anyways.

um

have you been inside of a first generation playstation 3? they were designed specifically to fail after 16 months, which would be a short amount of time after the next gen playstation 3 was released. no matter what you do, the leadless sauter will break.

-holy loving stuff i bumped this topic when not needed im so loving sorry-

Maybe it's meant so you can build your phone the way you want it to be at retail, so they will give you the parts that you need (duplicates if needed) and just sell it to you straight up.

i assume this might turn into a "choose your phone priorities before buying" thing now that i think of it

correct
this will probably be it's demographic, a bunch of geezers

Yeah, which is why it took 50 years of technological innovations before we actually made it to the moon. You're acting like skepticism is a bad thing.
