Did you empty your trash after you put it in the Recycle Bin?
When you delete a file, it is not technically "deleted" it's like opening a page in a book and ripping it out. But the page is still there, it's just ripped out of the book, on it's own.
There are certain programs which let you fish through the recycle bin for files even after the recycle bin was deleted. However it may be corrupted as new data will overwrite the "erased" data.
Let's just hope you get lucky.
