Author Topic: Why should I use iTunes?  (Read 4963 times)

stuff like device drivers, file discovery, and an updater.
why cant than be a little more under terms with how windows operates?
im sure most programs could find some excuse to do the same thing itunes does with 10 separate installs but they dont

its a stuffty program and you refuse to believe that
get over it

He can't stand people liking things he doesn't, or not liking things he does.
sounds a lot like you tbh

It's as stuffty as Maya, Photoshop, and a great deal of games with that logic.
Hardly a personal insult, and it's the truth.
forget you <- not a personal insult.

well gee, as a guy with photoshop installed, i sure dont see an updater program and drivers under their own install??
or chrome? what about its auto updater?
or steam
or spotify
or skype
i could go on
itunes is the only program that requires multiple installs to work correctly
yeah, not bloated lol

i'd also like to add that the programs i listed dont take 30 seconds to start (besides photoshop, maybe)

stuck? nah. that just made me aware of the trend

how convenient of you to call it a joke when it's not in your favour though lol.

I called it a joke at the time too. So, ya.

Chome App Launcher

"steam/GameOverlayUI.exe"
"steam/Steam.exe"
"steam/steamerrorreporter.exe"
"steam/steamerrorreporter64.exe"
"steam/SteamTmp.exe" (I forget about this one, can someone confirm if this exists for them?  It might be from when I used the bootloader beta)
"steam/WriteMiniDump.exe"
While these aren't entries in the start menu/program menu, they are still there.

Photoshop has an updater if you own the latest version (Creative cloud updater).

Skype is the only self sufficient app there to my knowledge.

This is how software works.  Apple has created a few programs with a few of the same features, so instead of making those bits/installing them multiple times, they make them modular.  even Blockland has a separate updating application.  How bloated do you think it is?

nowhere in the thread did you say it was lol

convenient ;)

maybe except the fact that multiple exes doesn't equal multiple (and seperate) programs?
its bloated enough that im able to count more than 10 seconds between clicking the icon and it fully opening (sorry the white screen doesnt count lol)

Actually that's exactly what it means.

And Steam is okay in that respect?!  My iTunes also takes about 3 seconds to start.

It lets you take music anywhere you go. Its not very useful if you dont have apple stuff but it still works on most windows computers.

If you really want to, go ahead.

For Windows computer, you should NOT use iTunes.

To start off, iTunes makes you download (mandatory) other stuff applications like Bonjour and like 3 other apple applications.

Bonjour changes your search engine for your browsers and puts stuff advertisements. Once, it even came with a trojan for me. Most of the applications that people mentioned before me are great. Itunes should remain solely for putting stuff in your ipod/iphone/ipad
