Author Topic: Teleportation = Impossible  (Read 4590 times)

As selfish as it sounds, I'd rather there be a breakthrough in medical science that leads to triple, quadruple, or even octuple life expectancy so I can see all the cool stuff that's going to happen in the future.
Immortality is very possible, hell they could even probably pull it off today if they put their minds to it; But no, flexible phone screens are more important.

imagine throwing a live grenade in your teleporter and setting the destination to "random"
it teleports to right behind you

I'd much rather transfer my conscious to any given android where ever I wanted to be.

even if it was all possible, i assume they'd have to destroy you and copy the particles that make you up on the other side. aka you'd be cloned and die.

imagine throwing a live grenade in your teleporter and setting the destination to "random"
you forget to activate the teleport.

i'm pretty sure it wouldn't explode at the destination.

depending on what grenade type you're talking about the chemical properties would be altered to the point their reaction would no longer result in an explosion

that or it would go off as each particle was recreated, so instead of one big explosion, you get trillions of tiny ones

given the nature of particle dualities and quantum entanglement, the concept of teleportation is going to be executed in some form or another in the technology cycle. it won't be as sci-fi as we want it to be, at least not then, but to us it'll be forgetin' magic.

you're also assuming our current theories of physics and quantum physics are correct

look who's back

The grenade teleports to the bedroom and two people are loving each other and then the grenade explodes and the man'ssnake is cut off and the woman accidentally swallows the snake

Subpixel + LSD + Blockland Forums = Bad

I mean sci-fi stuff, like teleportation watches or pads or whatever.
Bullstuff.
People would have said flying is impossible 150 years ago. You just got to believe.

I mean it's cool to talk about and all. But nobody here has an understanding of what would be involved in the actual science behind this.

nobody does lol
as some people put it "if you are not troubled by quantum physics, then you dont know anything about them"
