Yes, quite unfortunate. However, I think many people think this is a gimmick, when in fact it is due to hardware limitations. Unfortunate but true. :/

When I still used my jailbroken iPod Touch 2g, I was able to trick it into running faster by telling it that it had a better processor than it actually did. It increased performance, but decreased battery life.

Ah, the things you can discover by messing around with stuff. XD
