Stay in Manhattan. Queens has good food, but it's also good for getting your ass robbed.
One thing not overrated among the many overrated things in NYC is the food, so going out to eat is plenty fun.
Central Park is pretty. cigarettes will try to persuade you to buy a carriage ride, but ignoring them and walking is a great countermeasure.
Taxi drivers are usually nice but foreign, so be understanding and articulate carefully.
Hot dogs, ironically, are delicious from food stands. The true highlight of stands, though, are roasted almonds, the best snack ever. If you don't get any, then die.
Times Square is cool to see but other than that it's a crowded mass of douchebags who don't know how to walk so just stop by for a look then get out.
The Brooklyn Bridge is pretty cool- if you like long uninteresting walks and annoying foreigners.
If you guys leave the city as a whole, it might be worth going to Nassau County which borders Queens to the east. You will have the best pizza here and it's a nice middle class area in general, except for Elmont.
AND THEN MAYBE YOU CAN COME TO MY HOUSE IN FRANKLIN SQUARE!!!
