Author Topic: Just blew an audition, great.  (Read 2209 times)

It doesn't mean you're bad, you just need to practice. A judge just judges people on how they do, they don't judge how they are as a player as a whole usually. I always think of this: "practice makes perfect". It's sorta true too.

i love the saxophone just because of this

I had that some horrible feeling doing a Theatre project. I just went up and my entire body froze. I couldn't think of a single word from my monologue and I was only in front of a small group of 13 that I know incredibly well. Luckily, we got 2 chances for the presentation and I did really well the next time. Then, we were required to audition for the school play (we could opt out of actually playing a part) and I was in front of like 50 people I didn't know and I nailed it without thinking at all.

tl;dr This stuff happens, keep practicing under pressure.

Sorry you blew it.

This appears to have been a big deal for you, which is why you were nervous. Also I've done piano for 3 (4?) years. Each recital I look like a fool compared to the others. I know what it feels like.
