Perhaps if Blueblur told us which server he was on, we might be able to back him up.

This isn't 100% true. I've gone to servers, been unfairly banned by admins and the host took my word over his admins. But each time it happened on a server the host was there and saw it happen, otherwise he probably would've taken the word of his admin other than mine.

So you're not allowed to ban users from your private server because you don't like them? It's not like he was banning everyone else too, just one user, who I'm pretty certain had a history with the admin, whether it's the OP covering up the story or the admin saw bluebur on the forums.

And again, that quote doesn't apply here, as he wasn't flinging stuff randomly at everyone, banning is not flinging stuff at people. People are allowed to have only certain people in their servers, it isn't some joy ride that everyone can get on.

Are you kidding me, you don't ban someone just "because." That's the stupidest thing I've heard. Don't ban someone just for a random reason, and I highly doubt he didn't dislike him. He was abusing his powers.

I ban people that I don't like on some of the servers I'm admins on. But that's when it's a private server that's not big. When it is a small server that is privately owned or run by a friend of mine, I'll ban people I don't like.

Define you don't like. If they have a bad reputation and they richard around on servers, yeah sure, ban them. But if you just don't outright like them, then that is NOT a valid reason to ban a person.

It is if I'm running a server or I'm playing a server with one of my friends and I'm an admin. Hey, our rules, you know? I know Badspot quoted against it but as long as my server isn't meant for everyone to join and get players, why am I not allowed to use administration tactics on private servers? If it was a server like Tezuni's, or another big top-name server, I wouldn't ban people I didn't like. But when I am running it, or a friend is running it, why not.
