My school starts around 8:12 and ends at 3:12, 7 45 minute periods and a 20 minute lunch, there's something called "ELT" which is basically going back to your (insert period here) class and continue the lesson from earlier in the day, there are odd weeks and even weeks, odd weeks have you go back to period 1 on Monday, period 3 on Tuesday, period 5 on Wednesday, period 7 on Thursday and "SST" which is basically Homeroom on Friday, even weeks have "SST" on Mon., 2 on Tues., 4 on Wends., 6 on Thurs., and "SST" again on Friday, on even weeks on Friday there's a thing where you can go outside if you've done all of your homework and classwork for the 2 weeks, that's basically my schedule in a nutshell, mind you there's only 40-45 minutes in each period, so things go by really fast.

My school changed its times. I start at 9:30 and end at 4.

God dammit, Florida. You're loving weird.

I've never understood stuff like this. Why not just start at 8 and end at 3? Is that extra 12 minutes of sleep you probably don't get because you probably clamp your alarm time to the nearest quarter hour really that important? BubbaGum's school starts at 7:55 and ends at 2:55, and I thought that was weird but 12 after literally makes no sense.

My alarm goes off at 6, I get dressed, go down stairs, eat breakfast, take a tiny 30 minute eye resting, get ready for school and leave, it's really not that hard for me.

Dude I've been doing this for 3 years

4 classes a day; 86 minutes long

Start 7:45 End 2:10

I didn't say it's difficult, but my point is that what are they really accomplishing by delaying the start of school by 12 minutes to such an odd time? People set their schedules around round numbers like on the hour or on the half hour, it makes no sense to have something start 12 minutes after the hour and end 12 minutes after the hour.

I guess your right, that is really odd.

Class started at 8 ended at 2:40 when I went to school. We were a closed campus and nobody except staff could leave.

Don't forget about common core... mostly for 10th and lower.

It sounds really stressing, my school starts at 9:00 dismissal is 3:00. It is good but the only problem is that the commute to my school is 1-2 hours away from me.
1-2 hours? Where do you live?
Going to my school only takes 15-20 minutes.

we start at 8:10 and go till 3:10. i dont get home until about 8ish because of sports tho

It takes me less than 3 minutes to get home, but that's because I get out when there's no traffic and there's no cops on my route home so I double the speed limit.

NYC, traffic is horrendous.
